MAX FRASER
Working as a design author, journalist and curator, Max Fraser is the founder of the bestselling book series Design UK (2001, 2003). His publication Designers on Design (co-written with Sir Terence Conran, 2004) highlighted the contemporary influential design leaders; whilst his most recent work is the monograph BOEK on the eminent Dutch designer Piet Hein Eek (2006).
Max advises and nurtures new designers showcasing their talent at exhibitions in London, Milan and New York. He lectures internationally and has advised on judging panels for a number of prestigious design awards. His experience in public speaking and event hosting is extensive, particularly in his time as co-director of Pecha Kucha UK. More recently, he has ventured into making short films about the design industry in his role as Producer Director. As a consultant for private companies and government bodies, he is an authority on contemporary design and offers insight into the current ethos and direction of design.
He is a Trustee of the Audi Design Foundation, an Acquisitions Advisor to the Crafts Council, and a member of the Selection Committee for 100% Design.
